So here are my gym observations I have noticed so far this year(and the last part of 2005. I am usually at the gym between 8pm-11pm M,T,W,TH so my observations are limited to that time at the Bloomington Life Time Fitness. Onto the list:
November: Dead, 15-20 people there at 8:30ish, maybe 5-7 at 10:30
December: Less Dead, are people starting their New Year's Resolutions early? ~25 @ 8:30
Jan 2nd: 8:30pm. Full, the goddamn club is full. Ugh, going to Jimmy John's for a sandwich and will head back over at 9pm. WTF, where do all these people come from? Fine, I will jump on a treadmill until something clears out. Great, one treadmill open. Oh, the last person didn't wipe it down either. Thanks, I will get that. (Looks left...looks right) Why are all these couples here? It is all couples. What gives? I didn't know when you got married you had to do joint resolutions. After 30 mins I was able to move up to a cross trainer. yay. 60 mins on this and I am outta here. Oh, sure, I will wipe this one down for you lady. Thanks for all the lotion on the equipment. I love when my hands smell like lavender and vanilla. 60 mins later... A quick shower and I am outta here. At 10:30 there are still 30+ people there.
Jan 3rd:8:30pm. The club is pretty full, not as bad as it was yesterday. Quitters already? :) Hey, where are all the couples? It went from like 15 couples to the 2 regular couples there. Oh, it's singles night, I get it. Tons of girls, no wedding rings, no headphones(those impede talking to a boy) and enough perfume to kill a donkey. Thanks girls, I am sure I smelled like the fragrance counter at Bloomingdales before I hit the shower tonight. It was easier to get on equipment tonight, not as many pairs around hogging stuff up. Out of there at about 10:30 again, and it was at about the mid December level. We will see how tomorrow turns out.
Later!
