I am Pete Ryan, you may have heard of me...No? Did you find something with peteryan.com labeled on it? I would really like to have it back and there may be a reward! pete at peteryan dot com

This is my little spot on the web where I spew words either every day or a few times a year. Who knows.

Greece Shocks U.S. Basketball Team
Greece 101, United States 95

This is not a shock to me at all. The better team won. Greece and the rest of the world use what we call some of the basic basketball fundamentals to win games. Most of the "pro" players in the NBA are there for flash. They have skills like traveling and dunking. The NBA has become the WWE of basketball but without the admittance that their product is fake. Fun to watch? Sometimes, I used to love to watch hoops as a kid, now I can't really stand it.

The Greeks -- with no current NBA players on their roster -- danced in a circle at halfcourt after their victory.

I love seeing that quote, they do have one or two that have been drafted but other than that, they play together well. As a team. Not as a group of people thrown together to trying only to win and when they don't they have no sportsmanship.

and a few American players walked to midcourt to congratulate the Greeks, while most of the U.S. roster quickly headed to the locker room.

It is not about...
'Basketball is not just about dribbling and shooting,'' said Greece coach Panagiotis Yannakis, who took a congratulatory call from Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis after the game.

Or dunking or traveling or ball hogging...

Maybe now Redick and Morrison can go cry some more...

What a great Dream Team...
Done in again by their inept 3-point shooting -- and they weren't much better from the foul line -- the Americans will fall short of a championship in a major international tournament for the third straight time since winning gold at the 2000 Olympics.

But lets keep practicing traveling and dunking. Yeah, that is what works...

Enough rant for now...

Yeah the U.S would be better off to send the entire Pistons or Heat over there.

"All-star teams fail because they rely solely on the individual's talent."

"Dream Teams. I always found that term ironic because now that we have Dream Teams, we seldom ever get to dream."
