I am Pete Ryan, you may have heard of me...No? Did you find something with peteryan.com labeled on it? I would really like to have it back and there may be a reward! pete at peteryan dot com
This is my little spot on the web where I spew words either every day or a few times a year. Who knows.

This was the final night of the St. Paul Bicycle Racing Clubs Beginners Racing Program. We hit the
Velodrome at the National Sports Center in Blaine. Click the photos for larger sizes(Thanks Anne for taking the pictures!).

It was a lot of fun to get out there and ride on the track bikes. If you don't know what they are the bikes don't have brakes and don't coast. You use your legs to speed up and slow down. Your legs are your brakes.

One of the guys from the club brought with a pro womens rider from the
Tibco Team that will be racing in the Nature Valley Grand Prix. She has some track racing experience and it was cool to see her flying around the track.
It was a great time giving it a try but I don't think I will be making it up there much for racing. Blaine is just too far of a drive on Thursday Nights but next year I may take their beginner class. We will see. Later!

Think someone like me could get down on the inner circle of the track to take some photos or are they pretty strict up there?
I think you could be in there anytime you want. It sounded like they wouldn't mind any sort of picture taking/press. :)
Nice pictures! That looks like it would be fun to watch.
Are you cropping those pictures like that?
sure am.
