Fast Bike
After work yesterday I came home to let the Fred out, I was already late to softball and most of the first game was done before I left work last night. I decided not to go to the rest of the 2nd game. I looked at the forecast and saw lots of rain in our future. I decided to cut the grass. The front was much longer than the back but it still wasn't terribly long. I raised the blades of the mower and started pushing. It took me about 10 minutes to do the front yard and I bet I could do in in 5 since I now know how the reel mower works. It works pretty well, I liked it. I used our battery powered Toro weed whip to edge and do a little clean up. It also worked well. After all the lawn care was done I played with Fredo for a little bit and then decided to pull down the fast bike off the rack in the basement. I filled the tires with more air, took the watt computer I had on it for the trainer off, cleaned it up, and took it for a short spin up and down the street to see how she was feeling. Wow, I forgot how fast that thing is. It gets up to speed in no time and keep the speed on inclines also. I hope we get some nice periods this weekend because I would love to get it out on the road again and do 40-50 miles. Have a good weekend. Labels: bike, house

More toilet repair
Congrats to the Twins, Wild, it was close...We'll get 'em Friday. So I think I got the toilet all set for the most part. Pictures HERE! I would like to get a shorter hose for between the tank and the shutoff valve. But I am going to schedule the visit from the city to see if it is now up to code. Wish me luck. :) BTW, the Buzzsaw Brown rocks, very tasty, too bad you can't get it around here. :( Stop by if you want one. :) Lates- Labels: beer, house, tasty, toilet

Toilet Session
Did some more work on the toilet tonight, drilled out some bolts and hacksawed some other parts, now I just need to clean it up a little and install the new stuff. MikeyB is right on about the Full Sail Session. It is great, even the bottles rock. I drank are few during the deconstruction. :) Here are 3 of the caps. Get yourself some. They are worth it. Brau Bros + Toilet Repair makes for a good night...
After reading a post over on MNBeer that there was a new brew in the State I decided to head over to their website to see where I could pick up a 6er. Brau Brothers. I found it at the MGM in Bloomington, it wasn't in their refrigerated section so I looked to see if it was in the beer shelf area. It was, they had the 5 different brews that they made, now was decision time...which to get. I went with the one that had the most sold. The Pils. I got it home and placed it in the fridge, let it sit for a little while and then decided to tackle the toilet repair in the basement. Now there was nothing wrong with the toilet in the basement, functionally it worked just fine. The City thinks differently. I needed to replace the siphon valve in the tank. Well, everything in there was looking a little dated so I bought the kit to replace the whole thing. I got through 2 of the Brau Bros. Pils and had most of the tank disassembled so I quit for the night. Haven't done much else with this so far, the tank is bolted on with rusted out, crappy bolt that I am going to have to drill/grind out. Should have it done by this weekend. My comments on the Brau Bros Pils: Good, tasted like a Pils your buddy made in his basement, only better. I liked it and wouldn't mind having a few of their other beers. Over all 3.5 outta 5. Other notes: Go Twins! Labels: beer, brau brothers, house, tasty, toilet

Housed
Paid the first of many mortgage payments today. Citimortgage made is really easy to pay it online. It is just as easy as paying a credit card. For all the interest money they are making they should make it easy. I even tacked on a little more principal, maybe I can pay it off in 29 1/2 years instead of 30! We also got a foosball table from a friend at work. It really works pretty well, even Anne likes to play it. Well back to work, it has been pretty busy around here. Labels: games, house, pictures

Home Owners!
Well Anne and I officially own a home. Closing took about 25 minutes and about 10 of that was making copies I think. It went so smooth, I still can't believe it was that easy. I want to thank Terry Buchanan at Prudential Sundial Realty, he was awesome and made the process incredibly easy. He was able to answer every stupid question we had and did a great job working with us to outbid another couple so we could get the house. If you need a Realtor, I highly recommend him. I also want to thank Jason Gamboni at Twin Cities Mortgage Source for working had to get us a great rate on our loan and like I said before, answering our stupid questions. If you need a mortgage or refinance, give him a call. And last I want to thank Anne for helping to keep me sane during the process. Oh and Fredo too. See ya at the new place, we'll be in there tomorrow morning! -pete Labels: house, mortgage, realty

Man Stuff
So I wanted a new cordless drill/driver. I had one that my Dad bought me years back but the battery was dead and didn't want to hold a charge anymore. So Anne and I hit the Home Depot in Bloomington to take a look around. I did a little research before hand and had an idea of what I wanted but wasn't 100% sure. I wanted something nice and I wanted it to work for whatever I wanted it to do. Anne convinced me to get what I wanted so I wound up getting the DeWalt DC759KA. It is an 18V beast with a 1/2" chuck weighing in at a little over 5 lbs. It removed screws very well and I am excited to us it to build/fix stuff. Buy yours here. On another note, Junk Brothers on HGTV rocks. Check it out men. -pete Labels: house
