Anne @ Gooseberry
Anne is standing on the volcanic rock that was formed when the continent was ripped apart 1.25 billion years ago.
Me and the Falls
Anne takes a picture of me sitting on the top of the falls overlooking the river.
Falls
Same picture just without the hotness of me in it.
Falls Again
Only this time with double hotness. We got there early enough so there are no pesky kids in the pictures.
More Falls Again
No hotness but a cool picture of the upper falls.
Flowers
A neat picture of flowers that I don't know the name of. There is also an albino spider that I don't know the name of. Missed the spider didn't ya?
Upper upper falls
I think they were called 5th falls or something. It was a little of a hike to get there but still pretty neat.
Superior Hiking Trail
A quick picture of the windy Superior Hiking Trail. Anne and I had to take this back from the 5th falls area.
Split Rock
This was taken from Split Rock Lighthouse looking to the right(SouthWestish)
The Beast
Yup, that is Split Rock Lighthouse, pretty neat huh?
Kayak Person
I like this picture. Look how small the kayaker looks compared to the rocks. Try this, put your hand over the kayaker, don't the rocks look small now? Like part of the shoreline?
Pete and Anne by the Fog House
Up near the lighthouse right outside the fog hut or whatever they called it.
LightHaus
A little more close up of the lighthouse. It is a pretty cool thing to see up close.
LightHouse
It looks tall from way down here. It still looks pretty new up close.
Foghorns
I guess these were really frickin' loud and were there to warn in the fog and snow. Sometimes they would run continuously for up to 3 days.
Split Rock from shore
Here is your standard Split Rock post card picture, go ahead, compare it......see, same thing. Looks pretty cool though huh? Look at how calm that water is, you almost never see it like that.
Back to Duluth
Looking out our hotel room window at the lift bridge while a ship goes through it. Also note the DECC center and the carnival going on.
Lift Bridge Ship and Anne
Another ship going through the lift bridge, look how much choppier the water is now than it was at Split Rock.
South Lighthouse
This is the lighthouse on the south side of the channel leading into the liftbridge
North Lighthouse
This is the one on the North side. It gets way more foot traffic then the one on the other side. Oh a side note, don't stand too close to the channel when a small boat comes flying by, you will get wet.
Another Lighthouse
Another one on the Southern side. I took most of the lighthouse pictures for Mom. :) She is nuts about lighthouses.
Ship and Houses
This is Anne's favorite picture I guess I like it too. :)
Aww Ship
The back part of a ship, it is frickin' huge.
Fish Drink
Anne was thirsty and she now hates me for taking this picture.
Trout Bridge
The lift bridge is old and had a birthday this year so they stole the idea of public sculptures from Snoopy and mades some pretty cool bridge ones. Not bad Duluth, not bad.
Pothole
We hit another State Park on the way home and Anne found this pothole. It was a big one.
